Tom Wambolt, left, and Duke Gaffney, both with the Pappy Boyington Detachment of the Marine Corps League, helps Dave Sheridan, with American Legion Post 14 in Coeur d'Alene, load his truck Thursday with more than 1,000 pounds of canned vegetable that will be delivered to the State Veterans Home in Lewiston. John Dunlap, American Legion Post 143 commander, organized the unloading and packing from the Post Falls location. The effort was coordinated by local veterans groups which have been making the annual 100-mile-plus convoy south with about $5,000 worth of food for the past 21 years.
