The Department of Justice announced that Hecla Mining Company settled with the U.S., the state of Idaho and the Coeur d'Alene Tribe on a suit concerning claims over mining waste related damages. Hecla will pay the entities $263.4 million, all of which will go toward ramped up cleanup efforts in the lower and upper Coeur d'Alene basins.
