Karen Williams, a Kootenai County Sheriff animal control officer, comforts Jean Curran who cries over the dog she found Tuesday in the Riverside Harbor subdivision in Post Falls. Curran took the dog to Hayden Pet Medical Center where it had to be euthanized due to its condition which is thought to be caused by abuse and neglect. The dog had a large tumor on its abdomen that dragged the ground when it walked, overgrown nails, was severely malnourished and major dental problems.
